Tokyo Netball Association

About Us

The Tokyo Netball Association is dedicated to growing and supporting the sport of netball across Tokyo and throughout Japan. By organising a variety of netball and community events we hope to work towards our goals.

Our goals are to support the development of local clubs and associations, and to raise the standard of play by supporting the development of players, coaches, and umpires so Japan can thrive in future international competitions. We also aim to strengthen the physical and mental well-being of local communities by promoting active, healthy lifestyles.

Above all, our community focused approach allows us to offer a safe, enjoyable, and inclusive social activity where anyone—regardless of age, skill level, gender, or ability—can connect, grow, and be part of a supportive sporting community.

Mission

Our mission is to grow and strengthen netball in Tokyo and across Japan by providing opportunities for players, coaches, umpires, and communities.

We also aim to establish Tokyo as one of the leading hubs for netball in Japan. We hope to achieve this by developing a system of netball clubs that will connect communities and allow all people, from young children to seniors, to participate.

As teamwork is a core principle of netball, we believe it is important for our clubs and members to take part in other community-driven events that align with our goals.

In doing so, we hope to improve skill development, promote an active lifestyle, and create a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment where everyone can enjoy and participate in the sport.

Finally, we hope to elevate Japan’s presence in international netball, and help build a future where netball is widely recognised, accessible, and celebrated nationwide.

Programs

School Program

TNA can run school netball programs for elementary, middle and high schools. When we run a session we go to the school directly. We provide experienced instructors and equipment and can also adapt our program to fit any of the school’s requirements. Netball can be a fun and engaging way for children to learn about sport in other countries.

Due to netball’s popularity in English speaking countries, many of our coaches and players speak English and as such we have conducted our netball sessions at some schools as a unique way for children to listen to and try using English. If you are interested in learning more about our school program, please do not hesitate to contact us through our inquiry form.

Community Clubs

Similar to our school program, TNA also works with community clubs including; comprehensive sport clubs, university clubs and social service groups. From one off events to longer term programs, we can find a way to work together to achieve our goals and commitments to improving the wellbeing of local communities.

Additionally, we are always looking to work with individuals and community clubs to help with the establishment of more netball teams around Tokyo. If you would like to work with us in this regard, please contact us.
